WHAT WE DO
Staying true to our name, Versatile Dance Company puts on shows in a variety of dance styles including Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Acrobatics. Our purpose is to further spread the art of dance, while raising funds and awareness for charities simultaneously. The company has already started re-creating the perception of dance in the local area. By using their talents to give generous donations to charities, VDC educates the public on just how powerful the art of movement can be. The group of dancers have already premiered two original productions at the Canton Palace Theatre. "Praying For Abbey" was the company's first show in January, 2010 that gained support and awareness for childhood Leukemia. VDC raised $15,000 in this first event for a close friend of the company, Abbey Colbert, age 3, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Northern Ohio Chapter. Their second production "Speaking A Dead Language," raised $10,000 for two local battered women's shelters in August, 2011. Artistic Director Mitchel Federan explains, "I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done as a company already, and I can't wait to see where our creativity leads next. I feel as though we exhibit the epitome of selfless giving - and what better way to do so than through doing what we love." At 19 years old, Mr. Federan is already an unbelievable model of what hard work and dedication to your craft can look like.
Abbey was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 3. VDC raised $15,000 for her family and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Northern Ohio.
One in every four women will
experience domestic violence in her lifetime.
This astounding statistic urged VDC to raise funds and awareness for two local battered women's shelters. They accumulated a total of $10,000 in their summer benefit in August,2011.

CHECK PRESENTATION - 1/30/2010
VDC's "Praying For Abbey" benefit resulted in a donation of $15,000! The company held an official Check Presentation shortly after the show, where they gave out their generous $15,000 donation - $7,500 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Northern Ohio Chapter, and $7,500 to the Colbert family. This was a proud moment for VDC - their first show produced a lasting effect on the lives of many, and the company looks forward to more performances in the future!
PRAYING FOR ABBEY - 1/10/2010
The inspiration for our premier performance came from none other then a 3-year-old little girl. On October 2nd, 2008, Abigail Colbert was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (A.L.L.), a type of blood cancer that is the most common type of Leukemia in children under age 15. The Colbert family was put on a journey of treatment and recovery that would be unlike any other that they, or most families will ever go through.
